2017 Junior Island Championship

Andrew Jarvis is the first Junior boy to defend the boys title with Justin Hastings coming a close second and Aaron Jarvis coming third. Andrew flew out of the gates on Saturday firing his best round in a tournament of a 7 under par 64! Justin and Aaron were both consistent firing a 72 and 75.

All of the boys played well on Sunday but Andrew struggled to back up the amazing round on Saturday firing a 4 over par 75 and with Justin pushing for his first Junior Island Champ trophy he was applying a lot of pressure and cut into Andrew's lead. Justin fired an impressive 2 under par 69 to loose by only 2 shots after being 8 shots down on Saturday. Aaron was consistent again but couldn't quite pull through firing a 72 on Sunday.

In the girls division, Holly Mclean and Lauren Needham were battling it out again like they have for the last 2 years. Lauren has seen her troubles in tournament golf but as she has improved over the last few years, she was pushing Holly this year, but it seems as Holly just played her game and was consistent enough to claim the title for the 3 year in a row! With scores of 79 78. Lauren was not far behind her best friend with scores of 86 84 which are her best scores in any tournament she has played.

In the younger divisions, Danny Lyne played consistent through the front 9 and was able to hold of Sam Mclean who played extremely well shooting 46 only losing by 4 shots to Danny Lyne.

CIGA are proud to see how our Juniors working hard on their games and are able to shoot close to par or under in a tournament situation!
