2019 Elite Marble & Granite   Cayman Junior US Open

Young golfers played for the Elite Marble & Granite Junior U.S. Open Major that was held at North Sound Golf Club on Sunday, June 9. Golfers, whose ages ranged from 10 to 16, played in a 18-hole stroke play tournament with all golfers, boys and girls, playing as a single field, with the older, more experienced juniors playing longer yardages and the younger golfers playing from the shorter tees.

Aaron Jarvis and Justin Hastings played from the black tees, Andy Hastings, Todd Purton, and Tom Dickens played from the blue tees, Holly Mclean & Danny Lyne played from white tees, Sam Mclean played off yellow and Ben Croucher, Cian Andersen & Josh Richardson played from the red tees.

Aaron and Justin demonstrated that experience plays a significant role in the windy conditions.  Justin finished with a 72 (1 over par) taking the championship whilst defending champion Aaron shot 74 finishing second

The 18-hole stroke play format in these Major Tournaments gives the more experienced golfers additional tournament play exposure as they prepare to play the annual Caribbean Amateur Junior Golf Championships to be held this year at the Albany Golf Club, Bahamas, and other International Junior golf tournaments in the USA & UK.
